Dave's Press No. 2

The No2 Press is our multi purpose printing machine made specifically for the permanent studio location.

Its design follows the same concept as the Little Thumper and No1 Press, however its weight restricts its mobility. The No. 2 has a great bed size 20 x 40 which enables the printmaker to venture into relatively large print size. I always recommend leaving at least two inches clearance either side of the surface from which you are printing.

Harry Eccleston OBE (Chief Engraver at the Royal Mint) responsible for the Queen's Head design we currently see on our Ten Pound notes has influenced me and taught me intricacies regarding etching techniques. Harry helped in the initial press design which is very simple but has proved to be totally reliable giving top class results. My machines are built to last and are very easy to use.

Our larger machines have a much bigger star wheel which makes printing an ease giving more leverage.

Press No. 2 is our entry level professional platform which like all our other presses is built to last.
